1. New archaeological research suggests that the Indus Valley Civilization may be much older than previously believed. New radiocarbon dating from the Bhirrana site in northern India indicates that organized settlement in the region may be about 8,000 years old. The Indus Valley Civilization, also known as the Harappan Civilization, is traditionally dated to between 2600 and 1900 BCE. Harappa was discovered in 1921 by Rai Bahadur Daya Ram Sahni. According to the Archaeological Survey of India, it was the first city of the Indus Valley Civilization discovered. The excavations were conducted under the direction of the then Director General, Sir John Marshall.

नए पुरातात्विक शोध से पता चलता है कि सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता पहले की तुलना में कहीं अधिक प्राचीन हो सकती है। उत्तरी भारत के भिर्राना स्थल से प्राप्त नए रेडियोकार्बन डेटिंग से संकेत मिलता है कि इस क्षेत्र में संगठित बस्ती लगभग 8,000 वर्ष पुरानी हो सकती है। सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता , जिसे हड़प्पा सभ्यता के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, परंपरागत रूप से 2600 से 1900 ईसा पूर्व के बीच मानी जाती है। हड़प्पा की खोज 1921 में राय बहादुर दयाराम साहनी ने की थी। Archaeological Survey of India के अनुसार, यह सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता का खोजा गया पहला शहर था। तत्कालीन महानिदेशक सर जॉन मार्शल के निर्देशन में यह खुदाई हुई थी।

2.   India topped the medal tally at the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championships 2026, winning a total of 94 medals, including 51 gold, 23 silver, and 20 bronze. The championship concluded at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi, with the host team putting up a strong performance on the final day. Around 311 shooters from 20 Asian countries participated. The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) is responsible for hosting and organizing all national and international shooting competitions in India. It was formed on April 17, 1951. Its headquarters are in New Delhi.

एशियाई राइफल/पिस्तौल चैंपियनशिप 2026 में भारत ने पदक तालिका में शीर्ष स्थान हासिल किया और 51 स्वर्ण, 23 रजत और 20 कांस्य सहित कुल 94 पदक जीते। चैंपियनशिप का समापन नई दिल्ली के डॉ. करणी सिंह शूटिंग रेंज में हुआ, जहां मेजबान टीम ने अंतिम दिन शानदार प्रदर्शन किया। इसमें 20 एशियाई देशों के लगभग 311 निशानेबाजों ने हिस्सा लिया। नेशनल राइफल एसोसिएशन ऑफ इंडिया (NRAI)  भारत में निशानेबाजी की सभी राष्ट्रीय और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिताओं की मेजबानी और प्रबंधन का जिम्मा इसी संस्था का है। इसका गठन 17 अप्रैल 1951 में हुई था।  इसका मुख्यालय नई दिल्ली में है।

3. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah launched the country's first Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC)-based Public Distribution System (PDS) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on February 15, 2026. This innovative initiative aims to bring transparency to the ration distribution system, eliminate corruption, and ensure "leak-proof" distribution. Under this system, beneficiaries receive e-Rupee (CBDC) tokens in their digital wallets, containing details of the name, quantity, and price of the commodity. This initiative is an important part of the 'Digital India' campaign, which strengthens the vision of giving the poor, Dalits, and backward classes the first right to the country's resources.

केंद्रीय गृह एवं सहकारिता मंत्री अमित शाह ने 15 फरवरी 2026 को गुजरात के गांधीनगर में देश की पहली सेंट्रल बैंक डिजिटल करेंसी (CBDC) आधारित सार्वजनिक वितरण प्रणाली (PDS) का शुभारंभ किया। इस अभिनव पहल का उद्देश्य राशन वितरण तंत्र में पारदर्शिता लाना, भ्रष्टाचार को समाप्त करना और "लीक-प्रूफ" वितरण सुनिश्चित करना है।  इस प्रणाली के तहत, लाभार्थियों को उनके डिजिटल वॉलेट में e-Rupee (CBDC) टोकन प्राप्त होते हैं, जिनमें वस्तु का नाम, मात्रा और मूल्य का विवरण होता है। यह पहल 'डिजिटल इंडिया' अभियान का एक महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा है, जो देश के संसाधनों पर पहला अधिकार गरीबों, दलितों और पिछड़ों को देने के विजन को मजबूती प्रदान करती है

 4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the launch of the PM Relief (Road Accident Victims Hospitalization and Assured Treatment) Scheme. Under this scheme, every eligible victim of a road accident of any category will receive cash treatment up to Rs 1.5 lakh per victim for a period of seven days from the date of the accident. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said that this decision underlines the government's commitment to ensure that no one loses their life due to lack of immediate medical assistance after a road accident. The ministry said that the compensation to the hospitals will be provided through the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने पीएम राहत (सड़क दुर्घटना पीड़ित अस्पताल में भर्ती और सुनिश्चित उपचार) योजना शुरू करने की मंजूरी दे दी है। इस योजना के तहत, किसी भी श्रेणी की सड़क पर दुर्घटना के प्रत्येक पात्र पीड़ित को दुर्घटना की तारीख से सात दिनों की अवधि के लिए प्रति पीड़ित एक लाख 50 हजार रुपये तक का नकद उपचार मिलेगा। सड़क, परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्रालय ने कहा कि यह निर्णय सड़क दुर्घटना के बाद तत्काल चिकित्सा सहायता न मिलने के कारण किसी की जान न जाए, यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए सरकार की प्रतिबद्धता को रेखांकित करता है। मंत्रालय ने कहा कि अस्पतालों को मोटर वाहन दुर्घटना कोष के माध्यम से मुआवजा दिया जाएगा।

5. This Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) was inaugurated on NH-2 (Moran Bypass) in Dibrugarh district of Assam. The runway is approximately 3.5 kilometers long. It is designed for landing of Indian Air Force fighter aircraft (such as Sukhoi-30 MKI, Rafale) and large transport aircraft (such as C-130J Super Hercules). Its location close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) is extremely important for military operations. It will also help in quick relief operations during natural disasters. It has been constructed in coordination with NHAI and the Indian Air Force. India's first ELF was commissioned in Barmer, Rajasthan (NH-925A) in 2021. Assam has become the first state in the Northeast to have such a defense facility.

असम के डिब्रूगढ़ जिले में NH-2 (मोरान बाईपास) पर इस आपातकालीन लैंडिंग सुविधा (ELF) का उद्घाटन किया गया। यह रनवे लगभग 3.5 किलोमीटर लंबा है।  इसे भारतीय वायुसेना के लड़ाकू विमानों (जैसे सुखोई-30 MKI, राफेल) और बड़े परिवहन विमानों (जैसे C-130J सुपर हरक्यूलिस) की लैंडिंग के लिए बनाया गया है।  यह वास्तविक नियंत्रण रेखा (LAC) के करीब होने के कारण सैन्य संचालन के लिए अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। यह प्राकृतिक आपदाओं के दौरान त्वरित राहत कार्यों में भी मदद करेगा।  इसका निर्माण NHAI और भारतीय वायुसेना के समन्वय से किया गया है। भारत की पहली ELF राजस्थान के बाड़मेर (NH-925A) में 2021 में शुरू हुई थी।असम इस तरह की रक्षा सुविधा वाला पूर्वोत्तर का पहला राज्य बन गया है।

6. The Union Cabinet has approved a major infrastructure project, India's first submerged rail-cum-road tunnel under the Brahmaputra River. The 33.7-km-long Greenfield corridor will connect Gohpur on NH-15 in Assam to Numaligarh on NH-715 at an estimated cost of ₹18,662 crore. It will be India's first submerged road-cum-rail tunnel and the second such structure globally. The corridor will significantly reduce the travel time between Gohpur and Numaligarh, which currently takes about 240 km via the Kaliabhomora Bridge route and takes about six hours. The Brahmaputra is one of Asia's major transboundary rivers, originating in Tibet as the Yarlung Tsangpo.

केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने ब्रह्मपुत्र नदी के नीचे भारत की पहली जलमग्न रेल-सह-सड़क सुरंग वाली एक महत्वपूर्ण अवसंरचना परियोजना को मंजूरी दे दी है। 33.7 किलोमीटर लंबा यह ग्रीनफील्ड कॉरिडोर असम में एनएच-15 पर स्थित गोहपुर को एनएच-715 पर स्थित नुमालीगढ़ से जोड़ेगा , जिसकी अनुमानित लागत ₹18,662 करोड़ है। यह भारत की पहली जलमग्न सड़क-सह-रेल सुरंग होगी और विश्व स्तर पर इस प्रकार की दूसरी संरचना होगी। यह कॉरिडोर गोहपुर और नुमालीगढ़ के बीच की यात्रा को काफी कम कर देगा, जो वर्तमान में कालियाभोमोरा पुल मार्ग से लगभग 240 किलोमीटर लंबी है और इसमें लगभग छह घंटे लगते हैं। ब्रह्मपुत्र एशिया की प्रमुख सीमा पार नदियों में से एक है, जो तिब्बत में यारलुंग त्सांगपो के रूप में उत्पन्न होती है।

 7. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu over the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati, Assam, on February 14, 2026. This six-lane bridge connects Guwahati and North Guwahati. It is the first extradosed prestressed concrete bridge in Northeast India. Base isolation technology has been used in this bridge due to its high seismic activity. Considering its location in a seismically sensitive region, the bridge uses base isolation technology, including friction pendulum bearings. High-performance stay cables and a Bridge Health Monitoring System (BHMS) ensure the bridge's strength and long-term safety. BHMS helps with real-time monitoring and early damage detection.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 14 फरवरी 2026 को असम के गुवाहाटी में ब्रह्मपुत्र नदी पर बने “कुमार भास्कर वर्मा सेतु” का भव्य उद्घाटन किया। यह 6-लेन का पुल गुवाहाटी और उत्तरी गुवाहाटी को जोड़ता है।  यह पूर्वोत्तर भारत का पहला 'एक्स्ट्राडोज़्ड' (Extradosed) प्रीस्ट्रेस्ड कंक्रीट पुल है। इसमें उच्च भूकंपीय गतिविधि को देखते हुए 'बेस आइसोलेशन' तकनीक का उपयोग किया गया है। भूकंपीय दृष्टि से संवेदनशील क्षेत्र को ध्यान में रखते हुए पुल में बेस आइसोलेशन तकनीक का उपयोग किया गया है, जिसमें फ्रिक्शन पेंडुलम बेयरिंग्स लगाए गए हैं। हाई-परफॉर्मेंस स्टे केबल्स और ब्रिज हेल्थ मॉनिटरिंग सिस्टम (बीएचएमएस) पुल की मजबूती और दीर्घकालिक सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करते हैं। बीएचएमएस रियल-टाइम निगरानी और शुरुआती क्षति पहचान में मदद करता है।

8. According to data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), India has adopted 2024 as the new base year for the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Based on the new series, the retail inflation rate in January 2026 was recorded at 2.75%, which is well below the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) medium-term target of 4%. The weight of food and beverages has been reduced to 36.75% (earlier 45.86%) in the new series. This will reduce the impact of fluctuations in food prices on the overall inflation rate. The number of items in the new series has been increased from 299 to 358. It includes modern consumer goods such as OTT subscriptions, e-commerce purchases and rural house rents for the first time.

सांख्यिकी और कार्यक्रम कार्यान्वयन मंत्रालय (MoSPI) द्वारा जारी आंकड़ों के अनुसार, भारत ने उपभोक्ता मूल्य सूचकांक (CPI) के लिए 2024 को नया आधार वर्ष (Base Year) अपना लिया है।नई सीरीज के आधार पर जनवरी 2026 में खुदरा महंगाई दर 2.75% दर्ज की गई है, जो भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) के 4% के मध्यम अवधि के लक्ष्य से काफी नीचे है।नई सीरीज में खाद्य और पेय पदार्थों का भार घटाकर 36.75% (पहले 45.86% था) कर दिया गया है। इससे खाद्य कीमतों में होने वाले उतार-चढ़ाव का कुल महंगाई दर पर प्रभाव कम होगा, नई सीरीज में वस्तुओं की संख्या 299 से बढ़ाकर 358 कर दी गई है। इसमें आधुनिक उपभोग की वस्तुएं जैसे OTT सब्सक्रिप्शन, ई-कॉमर्स खरीदारी और ग्रामीण हाउस रेंट को पहली बार शामिल किया गया है।
