State Bank of India has announced a notification of SBI Apprentice for 7150 posts on its official website sbi.bank.in. The online registration process has started from 19 May 2026, and last date will be 8 june 2026. The selected  candidates will be recruited for 1 year of apprenticeship engagement in the Bank.

Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage mark on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon). Minimum qualifying marks on aggregate will be as decided by the Bank. There are no minimum qualifying marks for individual subject. Merit list will be drawn State wise and category wise. Candidates qualified in the test will be placed according to their aggregate marks in descending order in respective States and Categories. In case more than one candidate scores same marks as cut-off marks in the merit list (common marks at cut off point) such candidate will be ranked in the merit list according to their age in descending order in respective States and categories.

NOTE: Other detailed information regarding the examination will be given in the 'Acquaint Yourself' booklet, which will be made available for download to the eligible candidates along with the call letter for the test

2. Test of local language:

 The specified local languages of the states are as mentioned below. The candidates applying for training seats of a particular state, should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in any one of the specified local languages of that State as mentioned below. The test for knowledge of specified opted local language will be conducted as a part of selection process.

It will be conducted after qualifying the online written examination. Candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be engaged for apprentice. Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ certificate evidencing having studied the specified opted local language will not be required to undergo the language test. Candidates will have to appear for the test of specified opted local language at a centre (to be decided by the Bank) of the State applied for, at his/her own expenses., the SBI will not reimburse or bear any travelling expenses that may be incurred by the candidate for attending said test.

 Engagement of selected apprentices is subject to his/her being declared medically fit as per the requirement of the Bank.

 Final Selection will be subject to:

  •  Eligibility Verification of for the post and information furnished in the online application
  • Qualifying in test of specified opted local language, where applicable, as detailed above
  • Qualifying in the Medical examination

WAIT LIST:

A Wait list (State-category wise) will be maintained for one year from the date of result of the engagement of apprentices or next engagement exercise, whichever is earlier. Candidates will be released only once from this waitlist against non-joining subject to availability of qualified candidates.

How To Apply

SBI Apprentice Apply Online 2026

Candidates are allowed to apply in online mode only as no other mode of application would be accepted.

  •  Firstly, candidates need to scan their photograph, signature & all required documents as per the official notification.
  •  Thereafter, these candidates need to visit the official SBI website https://www.sbi.co.in/careers and click to open the Online Application Form, available under the tab ‘Current Openings’.
  •  Now completely fill the application form carefully. After filling the application form completely, candidates must click on "submit" button to finally submit the online form.
  •  After submitting the online application form, candidates need to pay the application fees as per the instructions available on the window.
  •  Application Fees can be paid online using debit card/credit card /internet banking by providing information as asked on the official website & then finally save the complete application form for future records.

Salary & Job Profile

SBI Apprentice Salary 2026
 Basically, apprenticeship is not a permanent job of a Bank.

SBI Apprentice are just Trainees who will be trained as an Apprentice, so technically they do not receive an in-hand salary. However, Selected candidates will get a fixed stipend of Rs.15000/- per month during their training period of 1 year.
 Note: The apprentices shall not be eligible for any other allowances/ benefits till the duration of their Apprenticeship.

 SBI Apprentice Job Profile 2026

  • The candidates selected as an Apprentice shall be trained rigorously for a duration of 1 year.
  • They will be doing different administrative work/training about the actual work and services that SBI bank provides to their customers.
  • They will be managed by some senior official of the bank who will guide them to perform all the assigned tasks within a stipulated time frame in the bank

Eligibility Criteria

 SBI Apprentice Age Limit as on 01.04.2026

 • Minimum Age: 20 years
 • Maximum Age: 28 years


 Note:  Maximum age indicated is for unreserved and EWS candidates. Relaxation in upper age limit is applicable as per Government of India guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates

candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.2006 and not earlier than 02.04.1998 (both days inclusive)

 SBI Apprentice Educational Qualifications as on 01.04.2026

The candidates applying for SBI Apprentice 2026 must have completed their graduation from a recognized University/ Institute.

WEIGHTAGE/RELAXATION IN RECRUITMENT OF JUNIOR ASSOCIATES:

Weightage / Relaxation to apprentices in recruitment of Junior associates shall be given as per recruitment policy of the bank as amended from time to time. Weightage / Relaxation in recruitment of Junior Associates will be given to the apprentices who will successfully complete the apprenticeship training in our Bank and subject to candidate’s satisfactory conduct and performance during the entire training period. Successful completion of Apprenticeship training refers to passing of skill evaluation test (Trade test) and Obtention of joint National Apprenticeship Certificate jointly issued by SBI-NSDC / BFSI-SSC.

 The Admit Card for SBI Apprentice 2026 exam shall be released around 10-12 days before the exam date.
