How is the IBPS SO Age Calculated?

IBPS calculates the candidate's age strictly on the prescribed cut-off date, not on the date of application or examination.

The calculation is based on the Date of Birth mentioned in:

  • Class 10 Certificate
  • Birth Certificate
  • Government-issued documents

Candidates should ensure that the Date of Birth entered in the application form exactly matches the supporting documents produced during verification.

Important Rules Regarding IBPS SO Age Limit

Rule

Details

Age is calculated only on the official cut-off date

Date of Birth must match official records

Age relaxation applies only to the upper age limit

Common Mistakes Candidates Should Avoid

  • Calculating age using the application date instead of the official cut-off date.

  • Entering an incorrect Date of Birth in the application form.
  • Assuming multiple age relaxations can always be combined.
  • Waiting until document verification to identify DOB mismatches.
