Educational Qualification

Office Assistant (Multipurpose)

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent.

Candidates also need proficiency in the local language prescribed by the participating RRB. Working knowledge of computers is desirable.

Officer Scale-I – Assistant Manager

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent.

Preference is given to candidates having qualifications in areas such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy.

Local-language proficiency and working knowledge of computers are also specified in the notification.

Officer Scale-II – General Banking Officer

A Bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks is required, along with two years of experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution.

Officer Scale-II – Specialist Officers

Scale-II Specialist Officer

The specialist examination contains 240 questions for 200 marks with a duration of 150 minutes, covering Professional Knowledge along with Reasoning, Financial Awareness, Language, Computer Knowledge and Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation, depending on the prescribed structure.

Office Assistant

Prelims → Mains → Provisional Allotment

Office Assistants who qualify the Preliminary Examination appear for the Main Examination. Provisional allotment is based on Main Examination marks and the actual vacancies reported by the RRBs.

Officer Scale-I

Prelims → Mains → Interview → Provisional Allotment

Candidates shortlisted from the Preliminary Examination appear for the Main Examination, followed by a Common Interview for those shortlisted from the Main Examination.

Officer Scale-II & III

Single Online Examination → Interview → Provisional Allotment

Candidates for Scale-II and Scale-III appear for a Single Online Examination and shortlisted candidates are subsequently called for the Common Interview.

IBPS RRB Interview 2026

The interview is applicable to Officer Scale-I, Scale-II and Scale-III.

The interview carries 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks will not be less than 40%, with 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.

IBPS RRB Local Language Requirement

Local-language proficiency is an important eligibility condition for Office Assistant and Officer Scale-I.
