Last Updated: 7 August 2026

The SSC GD Final Result 2025-26 has been declared by the Staff Selection Commission. SSC released the final result of the Constable (GD) Examination 2025 on 15 January 2026. A total of 50,047 candidates were provisionally recommended for appointment against 53,690 vacancies—45,115 male and 4,932 female candidates.

SSC has published separate roll-number-wise merit lists for male and female candidates, along with the official result write-up, final cut-off details, force allocation and separate lists for withheld and debarred candidates.

Important clarification: The official examination is named SSC Constable GD Examination 2025. It is commonly searched as “SSC GD Result 2025-26” because the examination was conducted in 2025 and its final result was declared in January 2026. It must not be confused with the separate SSC GD Examination 2026.

How Many Candidates Were Selected in SSC GD 2025?

According to SSC’s category-wise final-result table:

  • Female candidates recommended: 4,932
  • Male candidates recommended: 45,115
  • Total candidates recommended: 50,047

However, the publicly named merit-list PDFs contain:

  • Female List I: 4,817 candidates
  • Male List II: 43,296 candidates
  • Total names in List I and List II: 48,113 candidates

This difference should not be treated as an error. SSC separately placed 2,003 candidates in the withheld-result list. Therefore, the category-wise recommended figures and the names immediately disclosed in List I and List II represent different official reporting positions.

For overall selection data, use the 50,047 recommended-candidate figure given in the result write-up. For an individual candidate’s status, check all relevant result lists.

How Was the SSC GD Final Merit List Prepared?

The SSC GD final merit list was prepared using:

  1. Normalised marks scored in the Computer-Based Examination.
  2. Applicable NCC certificate bonus marks.
  3. Candidate’s category and gender.
  4. State or UT-wise vacancies.
  5. General, Border and Naxal/Militancy-affected area reservation.
  6. Force preferences submitted in the application form.
  7. Availability of vacancies in the relevant state, category and force.

PET, PST, DME, RME and Document Verification were qualifying stages. Final merit and force allocation were based primarily on normalised CBE marks, applicable NCC bonus marks and the candidate’s force preferences, subject to qualifying all other recruitment stages.

SSC GD Tie-Breaking Rules

If two or more candidates obtained the same final score, SSC resolved the tie in the following order:

  1. Higher marks in Part A of the CBE.
  2. Higher marks in Part B of the CBE.
  3. Older candidate based on date of birth.
  4. Alphabetical order of candidates’ names.

The Part A, Part B and date-of-birth figures shown in the cut-off table belong to the last selected candidate and help identify how the final cut-off was resolved.

SSC GD Withheld Result 2025 Update

SSC withheld the final results of 2,003 candidates because of court orders, suspected malpractice or related verification issues.

Through an important notice dated 9 February 2026, SSC confirmed that the final results of all such candidates had been provided in a sealed cover to CRPF, the nodal force. CRPF will conduct the required verification in coordination with the concerned agencies and release the result of the affected candidates after completing the proceedings. Read the official withheld-result notice.

Candidates included in List III should monitor:

The February notice was an update on the verification process; it should not be described as a public declaration of every withheld candidate’s final status.

SSC GD Debarred and Cancelled Candidates

SSC did not process the results of 345 candidates who had been debarred by the respective regional offices from appearing in further SSC examinations. Their roll numbers were published separately in List IV.

Candidates should distinguish between:

  • Recommended candidates
  • Withheld candidates
  • Debarred, rejected or cancelled candidates

These statuses have different meanings and should not be combined as “not selected.”

What Happens After SSC GD Final Result?

Provisionally recommended candidates will receive further communication from their allotted force regarding appointment, joining, document formalities, character verification, training and reporting instructions.

Candidates should keep the following documents ready:

  • SSC GD final-result PDF
  • Admit card
  • Matriculation certificate
  • Domicile certificate
  • Category certificate, where applicable
  • NCC certificate, where claimed
  • Valid photo identity proof
  • Medical and review-medical documents
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Other documents required by the allotted force

SSC directed candidates to contact the allotted force if they did not receive any communication within six months of the final-result declaration. Since six months from 15 January 2026 have already passed, a selected candidate who has not received any communication should contact the concerned force immediately.

Is There an SSC GD Waiting List?

No. SSC has officially stated that it does not prepare a reserve list or waiting list for this recruitment.

Vacancies remaining unfilled in the final result, or vacancies arising because of non-joining, will be carried forward by the concerned user departments to a subsequent recruitment cycle. Candidates should therefore avoid relying on unofficial “second merit list” or “waiting list” claims.

SSC GD Final Marks and Scorecard

SSC made individual final marks available through candidate login for a limited period from February to 1 March 2026. That original download window has expired.

Candidates can still download the public final-result and merit-list PDFs. Anyone who requires an individual scorecard for an official purpose should check their SSC dashboard and follow the current instructions issued by SSC or the concerned regional office.
