How SBI Clerk Age Is Calculated
SBI does not calculate age from the exam date or result date. Age is calculated strictly from the cut-off date mentioned in the official notification. A candidate must use date of birth as per Class 10 certificate or equivalent valid proof.
Example
If the cut-off date in the notification is August 1, 2026:
- Candidate DOB: August 1, 1998 → turns 28 on the cut-off date → eligible in General category
- Candidate DOB: July 31, 1998 → already above 28 on the cut-off date → not eligible in General category
That is why one-day differences can matter.

Documents Usually Needed for Age Claim / Relaxation

Commonly relevant documents include:
- Class 10 certificate / DOB proof
- Category certificate

- Ex-servicemen certificate
- Widow / divorce / judicial separation proof, where applicable
Common Age-Limit Mistakes Candidates Make
Most age-related rejection risks come from:
- calculating age from the wrong date
- assuming relaxation applies automatically without certificate support
- mixing OBC with OBC-NCL rules
- ignoring the specific cap for widow/divorced categories
