SBI Clerk Exam Date 2026: Prelims in September, Mains in November – Check Important Dates

The State Bank of India has officially announced the SBI Clerk Exam Date 2026 schedule along with the Junior Associate notification. According to Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17, the SBI Clerk Preliminary Examination will be conducted tentatively in September 2026, while the Main Examination is scheduled for November 2026.

The exact SBI Clerk Prelims and Mains exam dates have not yet been announced. SBI will release the detailed examination date, shift timing, reporting time and examination centre through the respective call letters.

Online applications for SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 can be submitted from 11 August to 31 August 2026. Candidates should regularly check the official SBI Careers portal for exam-date notices, call letters, results and other updates.

SBI released the Junior Associate notification on 11 August 2026. The notification confirms the tentative examination months but does not mention the exact day-wise schedule.

Candidates should not treat any unofficial day-wise examination schedule circulating on social media as confirmed unless it is published on the SBI Careers website.

The dates are based on the official SBI notification. SBI may revise the tentative schedule due to administrative requirements.

The SBI Clerk 2026 application process started on 11 August 2026. Eligible candidates can register, upload documents, pay the applicable fee and submit their application until 31 August 2026.

No application submitted through post, email or any offline mode will be accepted.

Candidates are advised not to wait until 31 August. Heavy traffic on the registration portal, payment failure, document-upload problems or slow internet may prevent successful submission on the final day.

Once the application is finally submitted, SBI will not accept requests for correction of the candidate’s State, category, language, name, date of birth or other particulars.

The SBI Clerk Preliminary Examination 2026 will be conducted tentatively in September 2026. The exact exam date has not yet been released.

SBI may conduct the examination on multiple dates and in several shifts, depending on the number of applicants. Each candidate’s final examination date, shift, reporting time and venue will be mentioned on the Preliminary Examination call letter.

Each section has a separate time limit. Candidates will not be able to use the remaining time from one section in another section.

SBI has not prescribed minimum qualifying marks for an individual Preliminary Examination section or for the aggregate score. Candidates will be shortlisted State-wise and category-wise according to their aggregate marks.

Approximately ten times the number of vacancies may be shortlisted for the Main Examination, subject to candidate availability.

The SBI Clerk Preliminary Examination call letter is expected to be available approximately 10 days before the examination date.

SBI will not send a printed admit card by post. Candidates must download it online using their registration number and password or date of birth.

The Preliminary call letter will contain:

• Candidate’s name and roll number
• Examination date
• Reporting time
• Examination shift
• Exam-centre name and address
• Candidate’s photograph
• Important examination instructions
• Documents required at the examination centre

Candidates must paste the required photograph on the call letter and bring two additional copies of the same photograph uploaded during registration.

The Preliminary Examination call letter will be authenticated or stamped at the examination centre and returned to the candidate. It must be preserved because qualified candidates will need it during the Main Examination.

SBI has not announced the Preliminary Examination result date. The result will be published after completion of all Preliminary Examination dates and evaluation of candidates’ responses.

The Preliminary result will indicate whether the candidate has qualified for the Main Examination. Preliminary marks will not be added to the final merit list.

Candidates should check the SBI Careers portal regularly instead of relying only on emails or messages.

The SBI Clerk Main Examination 2026 is tentatively scheduled for November 2026. Only candidates shortlisted through the Preliminary Examination will be eligible to appear in Mains.

Candidates must secure the minimum aggregate qualifying marks decided by SBI. No separate minimum qualifying mark is prescribed for individual Mains sections.

SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, XS and DXS candidates will receive a 5% relaxation in the prescribed aggregate qualifying marks.

Candidates who qualify in Prelims will be able to download the SBI Clerk Mains call letter tentatively 10 days before the Main Examination.

At the Mains examination centre, candidates must submit:

• SBI Clerk Mains call letter
• Authenticated Preliminary Examination call letter
• Authenticated copy of the identity proof used during Prelims
• Original valid photo identity proof
• Self-attested photocopy of identity proof
• Two additional photographs
• Other documents mentioned in the call letter

Candidates who fail to produce the authenticated Preliminary call letter may not be permitted to appear in the Main Examination.

SBI has not announced the Main Examination result date. The result will be released after completion of the examination and evaluation process.

Only Main Examination aggregate marks will be considered for preparation of the provisional State-wise and category-wise merit list. Preliminary Examination marks have no role in final selection.

There is no interview for SBI Junior Associate Recruitment.

The Local Language Proficiency Test will be conducted after provisional selection through Mains but before joining the bank.

The test will apply to candidates who cannot produce a Class 10 or Class 12 mark sheet or certificate showing that they studied the selected local language.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to:

• Read the selected language
• Write the language
• Speak the language
• Understand the language

Candidates who fail to qualify the local-language test will not receive an appointment, even if they have qualified in the Main Examination.

The exact language-test date will be communicated separately to eligible candidates.

Apart from the application and examination dates, candidates should carefully note the eligibility cut-off dates.

Final-year students may apply provisionally but must prove that they completed graduation on or before 31 December 2026.
