When Will the SSC CGL Final Result 2026-27 Be Released?

SSC has not announced a final-result date. A final result can be prepared only after Tier-II, evaluation of the applicable papers and qualifying modules, the option-cum-preference process and the final vacancy position. Any exact date published before an SSC notice is speculative.

Candidates should distinguish the exam result, marks facility and final allocation. SSC can issue these through separate notices or make some information available after the result PDF. The final-result write-up is essential because it explains the selection method, cut-offs, allocation rules and withheld or debarred cases.

How to Download the Final Merit List

  1. Open the official SSC result portal.
  2. Select the notice for Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2026 final result or FRTA.
  3. Read the complete result write-up before checking a list.
  4. Open every applicable list because SSC may separate posts, categories or result groups.
  5. Search with the exact roll number and then verify the name and category shown.
  6. Save the write-up, merit-list PDF, cut-off annexure and scorecard for allocation and joining formalities.

How Final Merit Is Prepared

Tier-I is used for shortlisting and is not the final merit score. Final merit is based on the relevant Tier-II performance, subject to qualifying all compulsory modules and satisfying post-specific requirements. Paper-I is compulsory for all candidates. Paper-II or Paper-III applies only to candidates shortlisted for the posts covered by those papers.

The final outcome also depends on the candidate’s category, position in merit, option-cum-preference, eligibility for the preferred post and the vacancies reported by user departments. A high score does not by itself guarantee a particular post if the candidate did not submit or qualify for that preference.

Selection factor

How it affects allocation

Tier-II merit marks

Determine competitive position for applicable posts

Qualifying modules

Computer Knowledge and DEST must be qualified as prescribed

Post-specific paper

Paper-II or Paper-III performance applies to specified posts

Option-cum-preference

Controls which posts and departments can be considered in the chosen order

Eligibility

Educational, age, category and post-specific conditions must be satisfied

Vacancies

Allocation is restricted to the final vacancies available in each post/category

Final Cut-Off Is Not One Number

SSC CGL final cut-off can differ by post, category, result list and applicable paper. The minimum qualifying percentages in the notification are not the same as the last selected candidate’s competitive cut-off. Candidates should use only the official cut-off annexure or write-up for the 2026-27 cycle.

Expected cut-off estimates cannot establish selection because the final vacancy distribution, candidate preferences and post-specific standards materially affect allocation.

What Is FRTA?

FRTA means Final Result and Tentative Allocation. It identifies candidates provisionally recommended and the tentative post or department allocation determined under SSC’s merit-cum-preference rules. “Tentative” is important: appointment remains subject to document verification, eligibility confirmation and the formalities of the allocated user department.

What the Final Result PDF May Contain

The official package may include the result write-up, roll-number and name lists, category and post codes, cut-off details, number of candidates recommended, withheld results, debarred candidates, tie-resolution information and instructions for communication with allocated departments. Some individual marks may be made available separately through candidate login.

Historical Context: SSC CGL 2025

For context only, the SSC CGL 2025 final-result process reported 15,118 final vacancies and provisionally shortlisted 15,118 candidates. This is historical data, not a forecast for SSC CGL 2026. The 2026 vacancy and allocation position must be taken from the future official result notice.

Tie-Breaking and Preference Rules

If candidates obtain equal aggregate marks, SSC applies the tie-resolution criteria specified for the examination. Candidates should read the 2026 result write-up for the exact order used; they should not assume that age or alphabetic order alone decides every tie.

Option-cum-preference must be submitted within the notified window and in a considered order. A post should be selected only after checking its educational requirement, age limit, physical or medical standard, work profile, location implications and pay level. Failure to exercise preference as directed can remove a candidate from consideration for unselected posts.

Document Verification After Final Result

Under the current process, document verification is conducted by the allocated user department. Candidates should keep original and self-attested copies of the matriculation certificate, graduation qualification, photo identity, category certificate, EWS certificate for the prescribed period, PwBD certificate, age-relaxation proof, no-objection certificate where applicable and any post-specific qualification ready.

The department may require forms, antecedent verification, medical examination or other appointment formalities. The final result is provisional until the appointing authority verifies eligibility.

Medical Examination, Appointment and Joining

Medical or physical requirements depend on the allocated post and department. Candidates allocated to posts with specific physical or medical standards must satisfy those standards even if they have cleared the written examination. The appointment letter, reporting date, place of posting and training schedule are issued by the concerned department—not by an unofficial result website.

If no communication is received within the period mentioned in SSC’s result notice, use the contact route prescribed in that notice. Keep email, mobile number and postal address monitored and preserve all result documents.

What Candidates Should Do Now

Focus on the immediate exam stage, prepare Tier-II with official sectional timing, practise DEST and Computer Knowledge, and study any post-specific paper. Keep certificates current and decide post preferences in advance. Do not wait for a final-result headline to begin document preparation.

Last verified: 14 September 2026. Final result, cut-off, allocation and joining information will be updated only from official SSC or allocated-department communication.
