SSC CGL Tier 1 Result 2026: current official status
As of 14 September 2026, the examination has not started, so SSC has not issued the Tier-I result, official cut-off, scorecard or final answer key for the 2026 recruitment cycle. A search headline, thumbnail or social post saying that the result is “out” is not proof. Treat the result as released only when the corresponding notice or PDF is visible on the Commission's official website.
This page will keep the same URL throughout the cycle. After release, its top status block will show the official result date, direct merit-list PDF, result write-up, number of shortlisted candidates, cut-off table and marks/scorecard availability window.
When will SSC CGL Tier 1 Result 2026 be declared?
SSC has not announced a Tier-I result date. Tier-I will run from 30 September to 30 October 2026, while Tier-II is tentatively scheduled for December 2026. The result must therefore be issued before Tier-II, but publishing an exact date before an SSC notice would be speculation. Candidates should monitor the result and notice sections of ssc.gov.in rather than rely on an unverified date.
How to check SSC CGL Tier 1 Result 2026
Step 1: Visit ssc.gov.in and open the Result or Notice section.
Step 2: Locate the notice for Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2026 (Tier-I).
Step 3: Open the result write-up before downloading any candidate-list PDF. The write-up normally explains the cut-off, number qualified and next-stage instructions.
Step 4: Download the applicable shortlisted-candidate PDF and search your roll number or name with the PDF search function.
Step 5: Save the result PDF and write-up. Check the SSC login separately when individual marks or scorecards become available.
What will the SSC CGL Tier-I result contain?
Result component | What candidates should check |
|---|---|
Result write-up | Category/post-group cut-offs, candidates shortlisted and next-stage rules |
Shortlist PDF | Roll number and name of candidates qualified for the applicable Tier-II paper(s) |
Individual marks | Raw/normalized marks and scorecard availability, when enabled through login |
Final answer key | Official answers used for result processing; commonly issued after the result |
SSC CGL Tier-I qualifying marks versus official cut-off
The minimum qualifying percentages in the official 2026 notice are not the same as the competitive cut-off for shortlisting. Meeting the minimum percentage does not guarantee selection for Tier-II; SSC fixes category-wise cut-offs after considering normalized performance and its shortlisting requirements.
Category | Minimum qualifying percentage in Tier-I |
|---|---|
UR | 30% |
OBC / EWS | 25% |
All other categories | 20% |
How SSC CGL Tier-I normalization affects the result
SSC will conduct Tier-I in multiple shifts. The 2026 notice states that scores from a multi-shift computer-based examination will be normalized under the Commission's published procedure, and the normalized scores will be used for merit and cut-off decisions. Therefore, a candidate's estimated raw score from the response sheet may not be identical to the normalized score used for shortlisting.
Separate SSC CGL Tier-I cut-offs can apply
The official notice allows separate Tier-I shortlisting cut-offs for candidates considered for Junior Statistical Officer and Statistical Investigator Grade-II, Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer, and all other posts. The final result write-up—not a single unofficial universal number—will determine which cut-off applies to a candidate.
SSC CGL result, cut-off, scorecard and final answer key: difference
Item | Purpose |
|---|---|
Tier-I result PDF | Shows candidates shortlisted for Tier-II |
Official cut-off | Shows the qualifying threshold fixed for the relevant category/post group |
Scorecard / marks | Shows the candidate's individual performance when SSC activates login access |
Final answer key | Shows the answers used after objection review for processing the result |
What happens after SSC CGL Tier 1 Result 2026?
Candidates shortlisted in Tier-I proceed to Tier-II. Paper-I of Tier-II is compulsory for all shortlisted candidates. Only candidates shortlisted for prescribed statistical posts appear in Paper-II, and only candidates shortlisted for Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer appear in Paper-III. The official notice places Tier-II in December 2026 tentatively.
Do not wait for the result to begin Tier-II work. Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning, English, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge and DEST need planned preparation. SSC CGL final merit is based on Tier-II performance under the applicable rules; Tier-I is the shortlisting stage.
Mahendras verification and update protocol
Before the result, this page will show “Not released.” After the official release, Mahendras will verify the result entry on ssc.gov.in, open the PDF, match the examination year and stage, and then update the direct link, date, cut-off, shortlist count and scorecard instructions. Any expected cut-off will remain clearly separate from the official cut-off.
