SSC CGL Answer Key 2026: current status

SSC has not released the Tier-I tentative key, response sheet, question paper or objection schedule for the 2026 examination. The Commission's official notice says tentative answer keys for computer-based examinations will be placed on its website after the examination. Any active-looking third-party button before SSC publishes the notice should not be treated as an official answer-key link.

This page will retain the same URL through the complete cycle. Its title and status will change to “Released” only after the official link is opened and verified. Later, the same page will preserve the objection outcome and final answer-key status so candidates do not need multiple overlapping pages.

How to download SSC CGL Tier-I Answer Key 2026

Step 1: Open ssc.gov.in and read the official CGL answer-key notice first.

Step 2: Use the notice's official login link or the candidate login on SSC's website.

Step 3: Enter the credentials requested by SSC. Do not enter credentials on an unverified mirror.

Step 4: Open the response sheet, question paper and tentative answer key.

Step 5: Download or print every document before the access window closes; SSC links can be time-limited.

SSC CGL Tier-I raw-score calculator formula

The official Tier-I scheme has 100 questions for 200 marks and a 0.50-mark penalty for each wrong answer. Estimate the raw score as:

Estimated raw score = (correct answers × 2) − (wrong answers × 0.50)

Response

Tier-I marks

Correct

+2

Incorrect

−0.50

Unattempted

0

The result can use normalized scores because Tier-I is conducted in multiple shifts. The raw score calculated from the response sheet is therefore an estimate, not the final normalized score or official cut-off.

How to raise an objection to SSC CGL Answer Key 2026

Step 1: Identify the exact question and the tentative answer you believe is incorrect.

Step 2: Prepare a concise explanation supported by an authoritative book, government source or other reliable evidence.

Step 3: Submit the representation only through SSC's online objection system within the official deadline.

Step 4: Pay the prescribed fee. The 2026 CGL notice specifies ₹100 per question, non-refundable.

Step 5: Save the acknowledgement or payment proof. Email, letter or other modes are not accepted under the notice.

SSC CGL objection deadline and last date

The 2026 objection start date, end date and closing time have not been announced. The final article update will show the exact deadline in both the status table and a prominent button. Candidates should submit early because a payment or login problem close to the deadline may not extend the official window.

What evidence makes an answer-key objection stronger?

A strong representation identifies the question precisely, states why the tentative key is incorrect, gives the proposed correct answer and attaches a relevant authoritative reference. A personal opinion, coaching-key screenshot or unsupported explanation is less useful than a clear primary or standard reference.

Tentative answer key versus final answer key

The tentative key is open to representations. SSC scrutinizes valid representations and then finalizes the answers. The 2026 notice states that the final answer keys will be used for processing the computer-based examination result and uploaded after declaration of the result. Candidates cannot assume that every submitted objection will be accepted.

What happens after the SSC CGL response sheet?

After the objection window closes, SSC reviews the representations, prepares the final key and processes normalized scores. The Tier-I result then shortlists candidates category-wise for Tier-II. Separate shortlisting cut-offs can apply for prescribed post groups. Tier-II is tentatively scheduled for December 2026.

Mahendras verification and update protocol

The status will change only after the official SSC notice and login work. Mahendras will record the release date, objection deadline and access window; verify the fee against the current notice; test the direct link; and keep tentative and final keys clearly separate. The page will also be corrected if SSC extends the objection deadline or changes an instruction.
