SSC CGL Exam Analysis 2026: Shift-Wise Good Attempts

Mahendras will update this single authority page after every completed Tier-I shift. Each entry will distinguish candidate-reported evidence from official SSC information. The live analysis will cover overall level, section-wise difficulty, reasonable attempts, time pressure, repeated topic patterns and the questions reported by students.

No pre-exam “good attempts” number is shown because attempts depend on the actual paper, accuracy and shift difficulty. An invented number before the examination can mislead candidates and cannot account for normalization.

The paper is objective and bilingual except for English Comprehension. The official notice prescribes 0.50 mark negative marking for every wrong answer. Eligible scribe candidates receive 80 minutes, with 20 minutes for each section.

As each shift ends, this tracker will expand into date- and shift-specific rows. We will record the sample size and update time so students can distinguish an early snapshot from a stronger multi-shift trend.

“Good attempts” will mean a practical attempt range at a stated accuracy level; it will not be presented as a guaranteed cut-off. The range will be based on the paper's observed difficulty, student responses, section balance, reported accuracy and cross-shift evidence.

Accuracy-first rule: A smaller set of accurate attempts can produce a higher raw score than a larger set with avoidable negatives.

Evidence rule: The first responses after a shift are provisional. The range will be revised when the sample becomes broader.

Normalization rule: SSC uses normalized scores for a multi-shift CBE, so raw attempts alone cannot predict the official cut-off.

Difficulty labels are relative. “Easy” means most prepared candidates could solve the section within its 15-minute timer with high accuracy. “Moderate” indicates selectivity, time pressure or multi-step work. “Difficult” indicates an unusually demanding mix, not that every question was hard. The analysis will explain the reason behind each label instead of publishing a one-word verdict.

For Tier-I, candidates can estimate a raw score from the response sheet as: (correct answers × 2) − (wrong answers × 0.50). Unattempted questions carry no marks. This is an estimate before any official normalization and before objection decisions alter the final key.

Write down only the questions and options you genuinely remember, while the paper is fresh.

Separate confirmed recollection from uncertain recollection; do not convert guesses into “actual questions.”

Estimate accuracy, not only attempts, and keep a copy of any exam-day notes.
