The official 2026 scheme gives candidates 60 minutes with a 15-minute timer for each section. Each correct answer carries two marks and each wrong answer attracts a 0.50-mark penalty. This pattern is the fixed framework; the questions and topic distribution will be added only after the examination.
How the SSC CGL memory-based paper will be built
Collection: Candidate-reported questions will be collected only after a shift ends.
Cross-check: Similar reports will be compared to remove duplicates, incomplete statements and conflicting options.
Labelling: Reconstructed questions will be labelled “memory-based,” not “official paper.”
Correction: Any uncertain answer will be marked for review instead of being stated as final.
Official verification: When SSC enables the response sheet or publishes a final key, the memory-based record will be reconciled with official evidence.

Difference between memory-based questions and official response sheet
A memory-based question is reconstructed from candidate recollection and can contain wording or option-order differences. An official response sheet is the candidate-specific record released through the SSC system. The response sheet and tentative answer key are the correct evidence for calculating an estimated raw score or filing an objection.
How to use SSC CGL questions asked in later shifts
Use the reported questions to identify repeatedly tested concepts, not to memorize an assumed repeat list. The Commission can vary difficulty and topic distribution across shifts. Revise the underlying concept, practice a fresh variation and retain full syllabus coverage.
For General Awareness, verify every recalled fact against a reliable source. For Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning, solve the reconstructed question independently. For English, check whether the wording and all options were remembered before accepting a reported answer.
How to calculate the estimated Tier-I raw score
After the official response sheet is available, use: (number of correct answers × 2) − (number of wrong answers × 0.50). Do not subtract marks for unattempted questions. SSC will use normalized scores for a multi-shift CBE, so this raw calculation is not the final normalized score.

Accuracy and verification note
SSC does not authorize candidates to reproduce an examination as an official paper from memory. Mahendras will therefore publish candidate-reported questions for educational review with accuracy labels and corrections. The official response sheet, tentative answer key and final answer key on ssc.gov.in remain authoritative.
