SSC CHSL Syllabus 2026: Quick Answer
The SSC CHSL 2026 syllabus has two stages—Tier 1 and Tier 2. Tier 1 covers English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness. Tier 2 covers Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning and General Intelligence, English Language and Comprehension, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, and a qualifying Typing Test or Data Entry Skill Test. Candidates must prepare both tiers from the beginning because Tier 2 decides final merit.

SSC CHSL is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for 12th-pass candidates seeking Central Government posts such as Lower Division Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Data Entry Operator and Data Entry Operator Grade ‘A’.
The SSC CHSL syllabus is not difficult because it is largely based on Class 10 to Class 12-level concepts. However, the examination demands strong basics, speed, accuracy, English grammar command, current affairs awareness and regular practice of previous-year questions.

English Theory Focus for SSC CHSL
Candidates should first understand the rules of tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, prepositions, pronouns, conjunctions, voice and narration. Vocabulary should be learned through daily revision rather than one-time memorisation.
A good approach is to maintain separate notebooks for grammar rules, vocabulary, idioms and previous-year errors.
