IBPS PO document needs come in phases:

You usually upload:

Photograph

Signature

(Sometimes) Left thumb impression

You carry originals + photocopies of:

A) Photo & Signature (Most Important)

These are compulsory for online application.

1. Passport-size Photograph

Recent, clear, color photo

Prefer white/light background

No cap/hat (religious headwear allowed, face must be visible)

Avoid selfies, filters, low light photos

2. Signature

Signature should match your usual signature

Sign on white paper using black/blue pen

Upload a clear scan/crop

3. Left Thumb Impression (if asked)

Use black/blue ink

Properly scanned and not smudged

4. Handwritten Declaration (if asked)

Candidate must write it by hand in English

Must match the text given in notification/application form

Important: Many rejections happen due to blur photo, wrong signature, caps lock declaration, or scanned low quality images.

B) Identity Proof (ID Proof)

Carry original + photocopy, and keep a scanned copy for safety.

Accepted commonly:

Aadhaar Card

PAN Card

Passport

Driving License

Voter ID

Also keep (Recommended):

Same ID number used in application

If name mismatch exists, keep supporting proof (see below)

C) Address Proof (Sometimes Required at Joining)

Usually any one of:

Aadhaar / Passport / DL / Voter ID

Utility bill / rent agreement (bank-specific)

D) Educational Documents (Mandatory)

You must produce proof of graduation and academic record:

Class 10 Marksheet/Certificate (DOB proof)

Class 12 Marksheet/Certificate

Graduation Marksheet (all semesters/years)

Graduation Degree / Provisional Certificate

If applicable: Post Graduation marksheet/degree

If final year result awaited: keep the proof allowed by notification (only if IBPS permits)

Special Cases

Name correction / spelling mismatch: Keep affidavit / gazette / supporting certificate

CGPA to Percentage conversion: Some universities provide conversion formula—keep it

E) Category & Reservation Certificates (If Applicable)

1. SC/ST Certificate

In prescribed format

Issued by competent authority

Must clearly mention caste/tribe and category

2. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate

Must mention Non-Creamy Layer

Must be within validity as required (often “recent”)

3. EWS Certificate

Must be in the Government of India format

Should be valid for the relevant financial year as per requirement

4. PwBD / Disability Certificate

Issued by medical board/competent authority

Should mention disability percentage and category

5. Ex-Servicemen / Defence

Discharge book / service certificate / pension documents (as applicable)

6. Minority / Domicile

Generally not required for IBPS PO unless specified, but some banks may ask at joining.

Tip: Many candidates lose selection due to wrong certificate format or expired OBC/EWS certificate. Make it early.

F) Experience Documents (If Applicable)

If you have work experience and it’s required/claimed:

Appointment letter / offer letter

Experience certificate

Salary slips / bank statement (sometimes asked)

Relieving letter (if applicable)

Q1. Is Aadhaar mandatory for IBPS PO?
