What Is Covered in the IBPS PO Information Handout?

The official information handout helps candidates understand the online examination system. It generally contains information concerning:

  • Preliminary examination structure
  • Nature and type of questions
  • Examination duration
  • Section-wise instructions
  • Marking and penalty rules
  • Sample questions
  • Online test login procedure
  • Navigation between questions
  • Selecting, changing and saving answers
  • Submission of the examination
  • Instructions for candidates using a scribe
  • Conduct expected inside the examination centre

Candidates should read the entire handout before the examination. The handout is provided for guidance and does not replace the call letter.

Details Mentioned on the IBPS PO Admit Card

Candidates should check the following details after downloading the admit card:

  • Candidate’s name
  • Photograph
  • Signature
  • Registration number
  • Roll number
  • Examination date
  • Examination shift
  • Reporting time
  • Gate-closing time
  • Test-centre name
  • Complete venue address
  • Documents required for verification
  • Instructions for the examination day

The information printed on the individual call letter should be treated as final for the candidate’s allotted examination.

What Should You Do If the Admit Card Contains an Error?

Carefully compare the details printed on the call letter with those submitted in the application form. If there is a significant discrepancy involving the candidate’s name, photograph, category or other important information, report it through the official IBPS grievance-redressal channel.

Keep the following details ready while submitting a complaint:

  • Registration number
  • Candidate’s full name
  • Registered email address
  • Registered mobile number
  • Description of the problem
  • Copy or screenshot showing the discrepancy

Do not publish your password, date of birth or complete registration details on social-media platforms.

Documents Required at the IBPS PO Exam Centre

Candidates must follow the document list printed on their individual call letters. Commonly required documents include:

  • Printed copy of the IBPS PO admit card
  • Original valid photo identity proof
  • Photocopy of the same identity document
  • Recent passport-size photograph, if instructed
  • Scribe declaration form, where applicable
  • Other documents specifically mentioned by IBPS

The candidate’s name on the identity proof should match the name on the call letter. Candidates who fail to produce the prescribed documents may not be permitted to enter the examination centre.

Valid Photo Identity Proof

Candidates should carry an original photo identity document accepted under the official instructions. Depending on the call-letter conditions, acceptable documents may include:

  • Aadhaar card
  • PAN card
  • Passport
  • Permanent driving licence
  • Voter identity card
  • Other officially permitted photo ID

A photocopy alone may not be accepted as original identification. Digital photographs or screenshots stored on a mobile phone should not be treated as substitutes unless the call letter specifically permits them.

IBPS PO Exam-Day Guidelines

Candidates appearing for the preliminary examination should follow these instructions:

  • Reach the examination centre at or before the reporting time.
  • Visit or locate the centre in advance, if possible.
  • Carry a clear printed copy of the call letter.
  • Bring the prescribed original photo ID and its photocopy.
  • Carry any additional photograph or form requested by IBPS.
  • Read all instructions printed on the call letter.
  • Do not carry prohibited electronic devices.
  • Cooperate with security and identity-verification procedures.
  • Sit only at the workstation allotted by the examination staff.
  • Follow the invigilator’s instructions throughout the examination.

Reporting time and examination start time are different. Candidates arriving after the permitted entry time may not be allowed inside.

Items That May Be Prohibited

Candidates should read their call letters for the authoritative list of prohibited items. Avoid carrying unnecessary belongings, particularly:

  • Mobile phones
  • Smartwatches
  • Calculators
  • Bluetooth devices
  • Earphones
  • Cameras
  • Electronic storage devices
  • Written notes or study material
  • Bags or other restricted personal belongings

Arrangements for storing personal items may not be available at every test centre.

Unable to Download the IBPS PO Admit Card?

If the call letter does not open, try the following solutions:

  1. Recheck the registration or roll number.
  2. Enter the date of birth in the format shown on the login page.
  3. Make sure there are no extra spaces in the login fields.
  4. Enter a fresh captcha code.
  5. Clear the browser cache and cookies.
  6. Use an updated version of Chrome, Firefox or another supported browser.
  7. Try opening the portal from a desktop or laptop.
  8. Retry after a short interval if the website is experiencing heavy traffic.
  9. Use the password-recovery facility if it is available.
  10. Contact IBPS through its official support channel if the issue continues.

Candidates should not repeatedly enter random credentials, as doing so will not resolve an incorrect registration-number or password issue.

Forgot the IBPS PO Registration Number or Password?

Check the email and SMS messages received during registration. IBPS generally communicates the provisional registration number and related application information through the registered email address or mobile number.

If a recovery option is displayed on the login page, follow the official instructions. Do not pay third parties or share sensitive details with anyone claiming that they can retrieve an admit card.

Is the Information Handout the Same as the Admit Card?

No. These are two different documents:

Admit card

Information handout

Contains candidate-specific details

Contains general examination instructions

Shows roll number and registration details

Explains the online test procedure

Shows the allotted centre and reporting time

Provides guidance and sample questions

Must be carried to the examination centre

Should be read before the examination

Candidates should download the admit card and read the information handout in their preferred language.
