IBPS Clerk Notification 2026 Out: 11,403 CSA Vacancies, Apply Online from 1 August

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has released the IBPS Clerk Notification 2026 for the recruitment of 11,403 Customer Service Associates (CSA) in participating public sector banks. The recruitment drive is officially known as IBPS CRP CSA-XVI and covers vacancies for the financial year 2027-28.

The IBPS Clerk 2026 online application process will remain open from 1 August to 28 August 2026. Graduate candidates aged between 20 and 28 years can apply through the official website, www.ibps.in. IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed nationality, age, educational qualification, computer literacy and local-language requirements.

Nationality

An applicant must be:

  • A citizen of India;
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan;
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 intending to settle permanently; or
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from one of the countries specified in the official notification.

Candidates falling under the latter categories must possess a valid eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.

Candidates claiming age relaxation must produce the required certificates during document verification or joining.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.

Important conditions:

  • The candidate must be a graduate on or before 28 August 2026.
  • The final graduation result must have been declared on or before 21 August 2026.
  • Candidates must possess a valid mark sheet or degree certificate while registering.
  • Graduation marks must be entered in percentage form.
  • Candidates with CGPA or OGPA must convert their grades into percentages according to their university’s rules.

There is no prescribed minimum graduation percentage in the notification.

Computer Literacy

Working knowledge of computers is mandatory. Candidates should possess any one of the following:

  • Certificate, diploma or degree in computer operations or computer language; or
  • Computer/Information Technology studied as a subject in school, college or institute.

Local Language Requirement

Candidates must be able to read, write, speak and understand the local language selected for the State or Union Territory for which they apply.

Candidates who studied the selected local language in Class 10 or above can produce their mark sheet or certificate and may be exempted from the Local Language Proficiency Test.

IBPS Clerk Selection Process 2026

The selection process consists of:

  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Main Examination
  3. Eligibility and document verification
  4. Provisional allotment

The Preliminary Examination is qualifying in nature. Its marks will not be included in the final merit list.

Candidates must qualify in each Prelims section by securing the cut-off determined by IBPS. An adequate number of candidates in each category will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

Final merit and provisional allotment will be based on Main Examination performance, subject to:

Candidates must obtain the required sectional and overall scores in the Main Examination. State-wise and category-wise cut-offs will be determined according to the number of vacancies and candidate performance.

Negative Marking

A penalty of one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every incorrect answer in both the Preliminary and Main examinations.

No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.

Local Language Proficiency Test

The Local Language Proficiency Test is qualifying in nature and will be conducted after the Main Examination or provisional allotment but before joining.

  • Candidates must select one applicable language while applying.
  • The test will assess reading, writing, speaking and understanding skills.
  • Candidates who studied the selected language in Class 10 or above may be exempted.
  • Failure to qualify in the language test will result in cancellation of candidature.

IBPS Clerk Salary 2026

The starting basic pay for an IBPS Customer Service Associate is ₹24,050.

The official pay scale is:

In addition to basic pay, selected candidates will receive allowances and benefits according to the rules of the allotted participating bank. These may include:
